We are excited for you to get started with your Montclair Online program course. If you have questions or need help along the way, we are here to help!

Step 1
Set Up Your NetID

Go to the NetID Account Management Center website, enter your University NetID and accept the Montclair State University IT Policies and Procedures.

Hint: Your NetID is your last name, first initial and a number: i.e. smitha1. This is the ID you will use to access the majority of systems and online services on campus.

IMPORTANT: Graduate students need to confirm your offer of admission prior to setting up your NetID and registering.

Step 2
Register in Nest

Log into Nest to register with your University NetID and password.

Step 3
Check Your Montclair Email
  • Access your Montclair email account at gmail.601951.com and enter your NetID. You will use the password you created when setting up your NetID.
    Hint: Your email address is in the format, NetID@601951.com.
Step 4
Access Your Course in Canvas

Canvas

Our online programs provide students with the flexibility and convenience of attending an online class anytime, from anywhere. Courses are conducted in Canvas, an accessible learning management system.

What is NEST?

NEST gives you single-sign-on access for many of your student services.

Through NEST students are able to:

  • Register for classes
  • Academic advising
  • Pay tuition bills
  • Review academic audit
  • Review financial aid award information
  • Gain access to Canvas
  • Access the University catalog via CourseLeaf
  • Download the mobile app for managing everything via smartphone or tablet. And much more!
